Meet the Founder & CEO
Boyd Kane leads Algernon Innovations with a passion for solving hard, real-world problems through software, firmware, and robotics. He brings deep experience in embedded systems, systems programming in Rust, and internet-scale data workflows.
Boyd's open-source project, eskom-calendar, helped South Africans navigate national power outages and reached over 60 000 weekly downloads. He has interned at AWS Cape Town, holds a BSc. in Mathematical Statistics and an MSc. Computer Science, and is a past finalist at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair.
At Algernon Innovations, he continues to build tools like ListenToAnything.com that leverage technology to give people back their time and mental bandwidth.
